Does anyone know whether Word can insert crop marks that can be printed by a commercial printer?

    Regards,

No but here is a workaround.

Display the crop marks (in Word 2007 and Word 2007, they are toggled on in Word Options | Advanced tab under the Disaply section). As you are probably aware, these are non-printing character.

Once the crop marks are on, enter the Header and using the Drawing Tools, Draw lines exactly aligned to the crop marks. Use a large Zoom to make sure you get them absolutely lined up. If you have several sections and don’t have Link to Previous active, you will need to do this for each header in turn.

You can now toggle off the crop option.

I found that this could also be done by going into a program like photoship, creating the crop lines, then dropping them into an image into the header/footers in word and setting the image to go behind the document text.

But why use Photoshop when you can use Word’s drawing tools? Whose going to pay £600+ for Photoshop to add crop marks to a document?
