Is it possible to use an Access 2k back-end with 97 front-end, or vice versa. Sorry this is a very generalized question, however I wanted to ask a general question before I spend hours on something that absolutely can’t be done.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerJuly 13, 2001 at 1:53 am #532919This all depends on which version of Access you are running. If you are running Access 97, you can’t run Access2000 as either the frontend or the backend. If you are running Access2000, then you can run an Access97 frontend or backend. However, my understanding is that your performance will be worse using an Access97 backend. Also, Access2000 can’t use an Access97 .mde database.
