Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3116908)

My machine has been trying to install Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3116908) for some days.

It continually fails and shows an error code (0x80070570).

The system is Win 10 version 1511 Home – Otherwise the machine is working fine.

Any thoughts?

I’m getting an error but with the following:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3122947) – Error 0x80070643

Going to reboot and see if it doesn’t indeed clear up.

Update:

reboot did not fix the issue, but found the solution at microsoft’s forum.

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownloadc4a1b8896ce9fbfea96c1ee6890d52a5windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab

Opened up command prompt w/ elevated priviledges per the thread and was lucky that the cab file was already on my system. Still, very strange indeed.

Thanks. But Woody’s article didn’t help. I’m on build Build 10586.14 and from the comments on Woody’s article perhaps I’m lucky I have not been able to update to the latest Build (10586.17).

I’ll just wait and see what happens (if anything !).
