Customize toolbar and menu (2000)

I do have a custom toolbar and menu that link to some macros in Word 2000. I want to know how can I make the menu and the toolbar appear to Microsoft Outlook? Do I have to create a new menu and toolbar in Outlook and link the macro to it?

Why do you want Word macros in Outlook?
Is Word your e-mail editor?
If so, I advise you to turn that off immediately, it causes nothing but trouble (see almost any recent issue of Woody’s Office Watch).
If not, what is the purpose? Outlook can’t execute Word macros.

[/list]On the basis that you are using Word as your e-mail editor “with your eyes open”, you need to be aware that VBA in Outlook works quite a bit differently from the way it does in Word. It is probable that you can’t achieve the same functionality in Outlook that you are achieving in Word. It would help, however, if you could explain more specifically what your Word macros do. Are these one-off macros that you will want to use from time to time, or are you likely to want to use them in most of your Outlook emails? If it is the latter, you MAY even want to consider using the File|Send To|Mail Recipient option in Word. HTH

I thought it was possible to use Word Macro in Outlook since there is an option to select Word as the editor. What I will do, I will write some macro especially for Outlook. I will modify the macros.

I think it depends on the function of the macros and whether you need to interact with Outlook objects. I found it really difficult to try to interact with the “envelope pane” and attach button in WordMail. After about 2 hours, I just gave up, and let the IT folks know that I couldn’t adapt my add-in for use with WordMail.

I have heard that there is a template named email.dot (or something similar that is the “document template” for messages composed in Word. If you don’t want to make your macros global, you might try adding them to that template. Also, there is a property to determine whether WordMail is in effect
