The new “U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program proposed by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel would raise the bar for cybersecurity across common devices, including smart refrigerators, smart microwaves, smart televisions, smart climate control systems, smart fitness trackers, and more.

Nice idea but let see the US force Chinese manufacturers which manufacture 99% of those smart devices, follow. Not a chance.

No force needed as it’s a voluntary program.

Will any particular Chinese manufacturer be content to see their share of sales dwindle over the next few years as even just some purchasers start to prefer products that come with a “cybersafe” sticker?

(Fake labels could be an issue though.)

“the latest in a series of actions … to protect hard-working families.”
What about idle families? Don’t they also deserve protection? What about hard-working singles? Presumably the people who least deserve protection are idle singles 😉

That won’t happen as the west has no compatible/price wise devices.

You assume zero competition within China.
