    Hi,

we have just converted an Access97 db to AccessXP and are experiencing a number of errors.

The most perplexing so far is that whilst navigating from one sub form to another (with the same parent) using the Tab key a field in the first is reset to 0 despite having just been amended to any value. The field changed is the penultimate in the first sub form, pressing Tab once moves the user to a checkbox and then another press moves the user to a textbox in the next subform (and the value is reset). Moving from the textbox in subform 1 to the textbox on subform 2 doesnt reset the value in textbox 1. shrug

any thoughts, experiences with upgrades gratefully welcomed.

I had a similar experience where I had to explicitly reference the controls with something like forms!frmName1!ctrControl.value and make sure the parent child link in the properties box was correct.
      Hope this helps.

Is it the checkbox that’s being reset? Is there some code behind it to navigate to the next subform or how are you doing this?

The control being reset is a textbox.

I cannot find any code to control the navigation so i think it must be the tab order of the parent form that is controlling the movement

Could you post a stripped down copy of the database? Remove everything that is not necessary to illustrate the problem, and remove almost all records from the remaining tables – just one or two should be enough to see what’s happening. Scramble sensitive data. Then, do a compact and repair, and create a zip file containing the database. It should be below 100 KB. Attach it to a reply.
