I have one database. No matter what version of Access 2000 or XP its name does not appear in the recent files list.
The recent files list is set to 8
All other databases used appear there.
I have even tried creating a NEW database and then importing eveything from this one into it
and still it does not appear.
    Any ideas ?

      I’ve never seen this.

      1. What is the name of this shy database?

      2. If you’re feeling adventurous, clear the list of recently opened databases. Programs like Window Washer can do this for you, or you can edit the Windows Registry using RegEdit. The list of recently opened databases is in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0AccessSettings (for Office XP; replace 10.0 by 9.0 for Office 2000), entries MRU1 through MRU9, and corresponding flags MRUFlags1 through MRUFlags9. Deleting these entries can do no harm, but the usual warnings about editing the registry apply. Deleting them forces Access to start building the MRU (Most Recently Used) list anew.

        Name is
        GUNPurchaseOrderMain116.mdb
I tried clearing out eveything, in registry but it made no difference.
Is there some hidden property that I have missed that stops a database from appearing on the recent file list menu?

What operating system are you using this with, and does it occur on multiple systems?

It’s certainly not the name – I just gave a test database that name, and it promptly appeared in my recently used file list. So it’s not due to a gun control stance by Microsoft…

Like Wendell wrote, can you test on various PC’s and OS versions? (I use Access 2002 SP2 under Windows XP SP1)

            Guess what.
I’m using Office XP SP2 and Windows XP SP1
            Very Interesting.
On my paptop running Windows XP Home and Access XP SP2 (It doesn’t appear)
            On another Lap-top running
            Windows 2000 SP3 and Access 2000 SP2 (It appears)
On Windows 98 running Access 2000 SP1 (It appears)
I suspect it Might Appear on Windows XP running Access 2000 as well but I haven’t got this configuration to test the theory.
            I just wonder why.

It may be a problem with XP Home too.

It is! (See my mail of 13th.)
I cannot find anything about it on the Microsoft Web site.
I winder if it is a know FEATURE.
