    Help !
I have an application at work that has been written in Access and designed to accept a password from a workgroup information file ( I can tell that much from the properties in the shortcut file).
Problem is that noone at the office now knows what the password is and we can’t get in without it.
Is there a way of bypassing this type of security ? I’m not doing anything dis-honest honestly !

What happens if you join another workgroup that has no security implemented and then try to open the database?

Sorry to be vague Charlotte but not sure what you mean. Can you explain it in more simple terms.

The passwords live in an MDW file. There should be a file on your machine called WRKGADM.EXE. If you run that, it will allow you to join a different workgroup, which might allow you to get into the database if it wasn’t properly secured.

Try with user name Administrator and a blank password
