• Date/Time Display Incomplete After Monthly Update

I want it to show “Long Date” (day/date/time), for example: Wednesday, March 10, 2021 9:59 AM

Date/Time display doesn’t show day or date after Windows update. It only shows the time. See attached screen shot.

(The time can be on a separate line or whatever, if necessary).

Since the Windows update (which I had delayed) happened yesterday the display only shows the time. Hovering the mouse pointer over the time display causes the day/date to appear, but I prefer to have all of that to show all the time.

It’s been a while since I set it to show the full day/date/time and I can’t remember how it’s done. Can someone remind me, please?

Only the time is displayed if you’ve selected “Use small taskbar buttons”, so check that at right-click, Taskbar settings.

Already checked that, thanks. Only the Time is displayed (see attached photo above).

Also doubled the height of the Taskbar to no avail. Before the Windows update, the Taskbar displayed Time and Date (day isn’t spelled out here but you get the idea):

Check settings in ‘Date & Time’

        Thanks for your reply.

Already tried that. Been to “Date, time, & regional formatting”, too. It doesn’t help.

Need to know how to tell Windows 10 to display “Long Date” in notification area (systray) by default. Right now it only shows Time by default (see attached photo above).

Do you see a text that says “Change date formats”, at the end of botton of “Date, time, & regional formatting”?

(It would have made sense to include these time and date settings all on one page.)

Yes, I see it – except it says “Change data formats” not date.

Changing the “Long date” format does not make the Long date appear in my Systray.

Also try looking for the the Control Panel’s Region setting link.

Same Anonymous as earlier: Please Go to Region in Control Panel again and click on Additional Settings again this may work for you:

Click on the Date tab in the Customize Format dialog box and copy the long date format into the short date format parameter box, click Apply. (Hint from here.) I just tried this switch between Normal and Tablet Mode and it works for 1809, maybe 1909 is not so different.

Success! It Doesn’t make sense that changing that Format entry would cause the Long Date to suddenly appear below the Time in my Systray, but it works. Thanks very much.
