    Hi,

A very strange situation has just cropped up. Yesterday, a spreadsheet I was working on worked fine. I enter a date in a column as 6/27 and I get a date. Today, Excel insists on prepending an equal sign to all date entries and thus calculating them as a mathematical formula. So, when I enter 6/27 today, I get 0.222222. The strange thing is that this column is still formatted to display dates as “m/dd/yyyy”. What suddenly happened to cause this? Yesterday it worked fine, today it’s broken!!!

Please HELP! I have reviewed formatting, conditional formatting, validation, etc. etc.

    Thanks!!

    Drew

      Select Tools | Options…
      Activate the Transition tab.
Clear the check boxes on this tab, then click OK.
You should be back to normal now.

        Hans!

You’ve got to be kidding! That was it?!?!?! WOW! THANKS!!! I still have no idea why that would have suddenly become enabled, but removing the check boxes definitely fixed the problem!

        Thanks again, clapping

        Drew
