Never mind!! I got my answer when I suddenly noticed that the SEARCH feature here on Woody’s Lounge was working again! I found an almost identical situation solved by patt in post no. 265284. DUH!! I didn’t even realize the search feature was working again. Sorry.

    Hi All,

There is very likely a simple answer to my question, but I am trying to get Access to supply default values for form fields when adding new records that are based on the value entered in a different field. Specifically, we are using Access 2000 to track projects with a lot of dates entered per record. Some of those dates are a typical period of time before or after a key date. So, if we open the form to add a new record and enter the key date in one particular field, we’d like Access then to automatically enter several other dates into some fields based on a formula. For example, one process usually requires about 14 days to complete. So, when we enter the final completion date of 31-Jan-2004, then we’d like Access to automatically enter the date of 17-Jan-2004 in another field. I’ve tried doing it using field properties, but no updates are taking place.

    Any hints??

    Drew
