How does one delete the browsing history from the drop-down box in the Address box on the task bar at bottom of screen in Windows7? The delete function in the “Tools -Internet Optons – Delete Browsing History” of the browser does not delete the history in this box.

      Bobolink,

It worked for me, got rid of everything but those in my Favorites list. See below.

Thanks for the reply. This apparently will not work in the version of Windows7 Home I have with IE9.

      Bobolink,

What version of Windows 7 Home do you have? I’m using 64Bit Home Premium.
Have you tried the Delete History on Exit option?
You could also try a free program like CCLeaner to clean out your history.

Are you talking about deleting items from the drop down search box (address bar)? I’m not sure you can delete them from here, but then again I never have much here because I clear this data each time I close my browser. I use the favorites bar for sites I visit a lot and a pass word manager to auto sign me in, so I see no sense in leaving my browsing history for all snoops to see.
