This is minor but is bugging the crap out of me. I am using Win7 and PowerPoint 2013. The attached JPG shows a Win7 subdirectory with all the PowerPoint files displayed as large icons. All of these files are formatted with the exact same design. All of them have the property checked to save a picture of the file. And yet…

[*]There are two different designs shown. The one for Chap-13.pptx is the correct one and is the one you see if you open any of these files. The one for Chap-15.pptx is the one all of them were converted from.
[*]The icons for Chap-16.pptx and Chap-17.pptx are smaller than the others for no reason I can find.

I tried unchecking the save picture property, saving, rechecking the property, and resaving but nothing changed.

Does anyone have any suggestion regarding what is going on? I have been googling for a couple of hours without success.

Have you tried clearing your icon cache?

I have never heard of that before. I just went and deleted it and rebooted. No change at all.

If I take the following steps, the Win7 icon changes 1. Load file into PPT 2. Apply new slide design to title slide 3. Save 4. Apply old slide design to title slide 5. Save With that, the icon looks like the title slide, as it should. Changes to any other slide do not cause the icon to change. Ronny

In the folder containing the files is there a thumbs.db hidden file you can delete?
