The following has been reported to me and I am at a loss for an explanation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When we book appointments, we enter data on the 7YO Form. We enter: 7YO Assessment Date, time, RA name (select from drop down list), location (from drop down list), and write relevant notes in the notes section. We either enter new appointment data or we replace existing data if the appointment was rescheduled. I entered this data last Tues 19th in the morning for about 4 or 5 participants. When I checked it in the afternoon, the appointment data was not saved, but the notes information I had added was saved. I logged out and in and the same thing happened. Then I re-entered it and logged out and the same thing. Then I re-entered again and it did save. I put this down to a bit of a glitch. The girls checked throughout the day as to whether this happened again and it didn’t.

But we just noticed today that when someone changed the same appointment information (on a different subject) the following day that their information did not save either.

This is happening in a db that I did not build and am not responsible for, but it is used in an organisation where I do look after a number of databases.
I was asked to give a hand with a few things on this db as well. Structurally it is a mess. Over the years they keep adding more fields to one main table, and they have finally reached the 255 limit. So they could keep going I have added a 2nd table with a 1-1 relationship to the first. This has been a multi-year project which is now nearing the end.
It is not split, and the single file is stored on a network shared folder.

Are the forms they are using bound or unbound? There could be some sort of logic error involved if they are unbound. If they are bound, that’s less likely – then I would start to suspect the network. But the bottom line is that the database should probably be rebuilt from scratch to fix the structural issues they have…

      Thanks Wendell

There is nothing as sophisticated as unbound forms in this db- the forms are very plain vanilla bound forms, and virtually no code anywhere.

I agree that a network issue seems the only option, but it seems very odd that you could edit 5 different records and not get a network error message.
But then maybe they did get a network error message, but didn’t bother to mention that to me.

I don’t the db is going to be rebuilt. I am certainly not interested in doing it, and the project is nearly over.
