Does anyone know how to display a Word AutoText item in a RichTextBox control on a user form (so that the formatting is retained)?? It’s easy enough to get the text to display without formatting but that’s not what I need.

A firsdt thought would be a macro that saves to a transient file in RTF format and then opens that file as a text file.

In my clumsy way I’d actually WRITE the data to disk, but there’s possible a neat-oh way to arrive at the same result by using something magic like an ‘API” call or summat.

        Hi Chris
Yup, I thought of writing an autotext item to an RTF file on the fly and then it’s easy. But this seems so clunky. All I’m trying to do is imitate the behaviour of Word’s Preview window in Tools
