I have just imported 132 entries into contacts from an excel file. Is there a simple way to create a distribution list using these new entries?. The problem is the selection window for selecting names is in alphabetical order. It would be easier if they were displayed based on the modified date or one could copy and paste from a phone list display under contacts using the modified date as the sort key.

Here is one way to do it in Outlook 2000 anyway. I highlighted the email address in Excel and copied them to the clipboard. When you get to the select members screen, you can paste the names into the “Add to Distribution List” section.

Haven’t tried this, but might using Categories work?
Set up a Categories column in the Excel spreadsheet and give the entries a category.
Import them (using the Replace duplicates with items imported option because you said you’ve already imported the names), then display by category, Select All and paste into a dist list.
      question Yes/No?

It would be a good idea to add categories before the import is done regardless.

To paste into the distribution list, you have to select just the email addresses. You could create a custom list view with only the email address, still grouped by category, then select all the records in the category to paste into the distribution list.
