Has anyone ever seen the following behavior:

A document, which has no macros, which has actually been saved as RTF and re-imported to get rid of any corruption, suddenly and inexplicably tripping Word’s “This document contains macros” warning when opened.

    Very peculiar.

Does the document contain ActiveX controls, from the Control Toolbox toolbar?

I think that’s possible. I have seen the “control toolbox” after loading (can’t recall if it was after saying no to enabling macros or after saying yes and loading with the shift key down…)

I just looked through the document for an “object” and found only one, a wav sound file.

Interestingly, however, if I create a new document based upon the same template and copy/paste the original document into the new document save and open/close open/close — I do NOT see the macro warning. But the sound file is preserved across the copy paste operation.
