• Document slow to open (Win XP OXP)

I have created a template that has an AutoOpen module attached that will initiate a macro to go to a bookmark in a Word document. Unfortunately when the document is opened from our XML database there appears to be a delay before the document opens and this causes the form to show before the document opens. As it is asking a question about the text at the bookmark it has become meaningless. The macro works just fine if I open the document from Word or via Windows Explorer.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

    Cheers

I don’t know why the document opens more slowly from the XML database. (Is the document stored in one of the new WordML formats?)

There was a thread here not too long ago about ways to delay a macro while loading something, possibly a global template. Perhaps a search would turn that up?

        Thanks for that J

The document is stored as a normal Word template (*.dot) in a network directory
