    How do I

I have got XP, Sp1, SP1a, SP2, SP3 on disc so I do not have to re-download them.

My question is how can I down load all the updates after SP3

      Hi old-n,

If your goal is to save updates so you will never have to download them again in the future, then no, I do not believe you can download and save standard Windows Updates for future use.

Service Packs are available as executable files, whereas updates are not.

      Yes that was the idea

      Thanks

I don’t know how it works exactly but if you go to windows update and on the left side there should be an adminstrator’s option for network installation (or something like that). From there you want to find or choose Windows Update Catalog and then search for XP updates and I think about 1000 of them come up and all the individual updates are in there. Maybe you can do a subsearch on date so you just get the ones that came out after SP3.

You can add any update to your basket (probably has a limit per session though?) and then download them.

WSUS Offline Update may be of help to you as I use it daily in my job on smaller sites with limited internet connectivity.

Using “WSUS Offline Update”, you can update any computer running Microsoft Windows safely, quickly and without an Internet connection.

      http://download.wsusoffline.net/

Apart from a few tools it downloads to create ISO’s such as mkfsiso etc it downloads all updates from Microsoft directly not a 3rd party host.

I tried Windows Update Catalog, the site uploaded, but said site error and closed down straight away, I tried a number of time over the last couple of days, may try again later.

Using “WSUS Offline Update”, you can update any computer running Microsoft Windows safely, quickly and without an Internet connection.

I have down loaded the “WSUS Offline Update”, I started to go through the menus I ticked exclude Service packs a new menu came up

“The combination of excluder Service packs and clean up down load options will delete previously downloaded Service Packs for the selected products.

      Do you wish to proceed?

I have found the date of SP3 which is May 6 2008

That is all I want to download all updates from May 2008 to put on a CD I do not want it to mess with my hard drive

Hmmm, WUC works fine for me; you are using IE right? Also make sure no popup blockers are in effect because the download prompt about where to save the basket contents comes up in a small popup.
