    Dear loungers,

When completing the address fields e.g. To, and if auto fill is on then the user is presented with a list of addresses to select from (or reject). How is this list constructed and what are the rules used for its display? I used to think it was last used similar addresses, so if I type Peter I would get a list of Peter.Brown @myaddress.co.uk and Peter.Rolins@company.co.uk where I had last writen to Peter Brown. This doen’t seem to be the case? Can the list be edited to add/remove addresses?

    thank you

    liz

      Liz,

You can delete addresses you don’t want to see by first getting the list to display, then using the down arrow key to highlight a specific address, then pressing the delete key. It’s very low tech, but it works.

I’m not sure where the list comes from, but I know how to keep a lid on it.

There is a file in something like Documents and Settings[username]Application DataMicrosoftOutlook – which holds these names. It has a NK2 extension. You cannot, however, edit it. If it unfailingly provides you with the wrong names, you can only delete it. HTH
