Duplex printing multiple tabs (Excel 2003)

Perhaps I’m missing it on a search of this forum, but I don’t see this addressed.

Is it still possible in Excel 2003 to print multiple tabs in duplex fashion (tab 1 of worksheet prints on sheet 1, tab 2 prints on back of sheet 1) etc? I can’t seem to do it. Whether I try “print workbook” or “print active sheets”, highlighting both sheets, and choosing duplex options — it still puts each tab on a separate piece of paper.

Did they take out that feature?

It works for me in XL2K. The way I have to do it is to select each sheet one at a time and go to print that sheet. While in the print dialog, select properties and set the “Print on both sides” (or whatever it is called for your printer driver) property. Then close the print dialog box without printing the sheet. After you have done this for all sheets, then select all of the sheets that you want to print duplex and print them. In my XL2K, they print as you describe. If you save the workbook after doing this, the “Print on both sides” is remembered.

Yeah, I think I figured that out when I finally found this article:

Apparently what I was missing was that you have to set up the page setup/print options ON EACH SHEET, or each tab, separately. I made it work in 2000, now I’m going to try it in 2003
(I’m just the helpdesk, trying to figure this out for a user)
