• E-mailing an Access Report

I want to e-mail a report to a list of recipients. The recipients are in the group header so there is a page break for each recipient. I can’t find an e-mail option in Access. If I try to e-mail it via a Word E-mail merge, it creates a page for each record in the detial section so the recipients receive multiple pages.
Help – How can I send each recipient their individual sheet?
    Thanks a heap!

In O2K under File menu there is a Send To option. However if the data for each recipient differs, this method will send the complete report to each recipient. The other alternative is to use automation.

It may be easier to filter the report for each recipient and then email.

You’re right, I do want to send different parts of the report to each individual. I want to create an automated process to send the portion of the Access report that pertains to the recipient (based on the Group Header) to the proper person. I’m struggling with hoa to automate this.
        Thanks,
        Andrew

The problem is partly in perception. Access reports don’t really have pages in the same sense that Word docs have, and what’s on any given “page” can cause it to run over into another one. Even Access has to run through the report a couple of times to figure out how many pages it has. You’d be best off to either apply filters for each person and then email the result sequentially, or to use a Word mail merge instead.

I have an app where I need to email monthly invoices to each department, maybe 50 per month. This client uses Outlook and Access 2000. Is this doable? I know how to do this for a single report (and it works beautifully), but haven’t yet tried creating a blizzard of emails to different recipients all at once. Any problems you’re aware of?

You might find this useful, although I have only just found it and have no experience with it!

              Email from Access

And go to “MS Access Downloads”
