Just looking for advice on the best way to transfer programs from an old Win 10 32 Home desktop to a new Win 10 64 Pro desktop.ย I have seen ads for EaseUS Todo Pctrans, but I’m not sure it will perform as advertised.ย I saw a Youtube video that indicated that it did not transfer fully functioning copies of the programs from the old PC to the new PC. It indicated the surefire way was to copy the programs from the old PC’s programs folder to an external hard drive, then copy them to the programs folder on the new PC.ย There was however, no mention of going from Win 32 to Win 64.ย Just wondering which way would be best at performing this task.ย Some of the programs are no longer available to download for Win 10, but I still use them and would like to be able to use them on the new Win 10 64 Proย PC.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

It’s always best to load software as fresh installs, in my (limited) experience. Additionally, you will probably benefit from installing 64-bit versions of programs, i.e. Browsers etc.
You will probably also need to source new drivers for your added-on hardware (printers et. al).

AskWoody LoungerNovember 24, 2020 at 8:31 am #2314059What you want is hardly done in Windows, especially when going from 32 bit to 64 bit version. These apps are just too different. I suggest to start from scratch, it will take you less effort and time and you will have less problems. Understand, that you can spend two days trying to figure out, why is not going well and you will end with no output whatsoever.
Go from scratch and build solid rudiments. EaseUS can say, that it is possible, but dont be naive. Windows do not work as iOS, Windows account is mostly useless and it does not contain your apps, parameters or settings.Dell Latitude 3420, Intel Core i7 @ 2.8 GHz, 16GB RAM, W10 22H2 Enterprise
