Easiest way to send a link?

When I used XP with IE 6.0,/OE 6.0 if I wanted to send the link to a site I
was on, I would just click file/send/link by email.

I now have W7 and IE 8.0 and Thunderbird. I can’t seem to find the same
functionality. I have to copy the link and paste it in an email. Is there a
better way akin to what I mentioned?

Just to be complete, here is the “how to email a link” for various browsers:

IE: Page | Send Link By Email

Firefox: Right-click the page, Send Link

Chrome: You need to install the “Email this page” extension (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/dbeoemfhkdniadbojeencpkgmobndpai). This adds an icon to the address bar.

I too liked to send links by e-mail, but mostly the link doesn’t get past some mail programs, so over the years I found it easier to just click in the address bar, copy the address and copy it into my e-mail. While this is not as functional as right click or file click or page click, the URL always gets through to the interested party.

Some anti spam and protection programs will block the sending and/or receiving of links in the subject of a email. The subject area is where MOST of the “Send link” routines place the link.

So, if one was to always copy and paste the address from the address bar (as stated above) it will always work.
