Since switching from Windows to Linux a few months ago, I have had a few issues arise. Two of them were very easy to fix. I have detailed the problem and solution below.

Printing problem: My printer started printing everything except for PDF documents in very small print. This was in Xubuntu Linux with the xfce interface. I lived with it for a while, because it is very easy to print to PDF in Linux. But I got tired of it, so I decided to try something: I added the printer again. It then printed normal with the new printer profile, so I deleted the old printer profile. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Ethernet problem: I tried setting a static IP address in Linux Mint (xfce interface). No Ethernet. I set the IP back to automatic. Still no Ethernet. (Glad I had wifi in the computer!) So I added a new Ethernet connection and set it to automatic (as opposed to manual). Suddenly my computer connected via Ethernet! So I deleted the old Ethernet profile. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Moral of the story: If you are in Linux, and some device quits working, or develops a problem, try adding the device again to Linux. The new profile will likely work just fine. After you have verified that it works, you can then delete the old profile. COULDN’T BE EASIER THAN THAT!
