Is there a simpler and easier way  to upgrade from 32 bit Windows 7-Home to 32 bit Windows 7-Pro OTHER than deinstalling Win 7-Home and doing a clean install of Win 7-Pro?  I have the Win 7-Pro software and a never used Win 7-Pro license.

Thanks, in advance, for advice, comments, and suggestions on what procedure to follow.

There should be a “Windows Anytime Upgrade” option listed on the Start menu that comes up after clicking the round orb in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Simply click the round orb and then click the option that says “All Programs” and has an arrow just to the right side of it.

This will bring up a different menu with more programs listed and, in alphabetical order, the Windows Anytime Upgrade will be listed towards the bottom of the list with its own icon. Below the list of programs, there will be folders listed with the folder icon next to them. You don’t want them. These individual programs should be listed above the folder listings, each program with its own icon.

      I hope this helps you.

As @bob99 says, or Control panel->System and Security->Windows Any Time Upgrade. Enter your Win7 Pro Key and off you go it should begin the upgrade Automatically. Dont bother with the “Go Online choose another Version” unsurprisingly it is not working. Never done it my self but they say its fairly quick. Shouldnt require any additional updates Patches etc only the Ultimate and Enterprise Version’s present you with something like 41 Optional Language Packs but not Pro.

Yep, the Windows Anytime Upgrade has been discontinued.

MS really wants you to go to Win10.

Does BobbyB’s method work on your machine?

Are you really sure you want Pro? Except for domain join and XP emulation, I’m not sure there’s any real benefit to Win7 Pro…

What about the prospect of eventually upgrading to Win10, from a Win7 Home base – won’t that leave you as even bigger cannon-fodder on Win10-Home, rather than from Win7-Pro putting you on Win10-Pro?

@kirsty a most excellent observation should the user choose upgrade at the dreaded Win7 EOL, but my understanding is that same key, if legit., would still perform the same function in Win10 Home to Pro as it stands now. There’s a healthy resale Market out there for used keys none of which I am going to provide links to as I am not sure if its really legit. Best of both worlds advice here do the upgrade to Win7 Pro, do the same to Win10 Pro from Win7 Pro and Register your entitlement to Win10 Pro on the M$ Servers for that Machine, Roll back to Win7 Pro but keep your Key for Win7 Pro safe just in case you move to another Machine. Not sure how long M$ will honour Win7 Pro upgrade keys for Win10 Pro entitlement, although by past experience since 2015 they haven’t really curtailed any upgrade priviledge’s except the “Assistive Technologies” thing was it Dec last year?? Lot of messing around thinking about it, upgrade, then upgrade and then “Roll Back” but its security down the road if M$ ever does end the programme, least you wont be faced with a $100 or something bill to upgrade to Win10 Pro if they stop honouring the old keys, something tells me after the nonsense over the years with Win10 they probably wont methinks. 🙂

Question: Is your computer, by chance, a name brand OEM computer which automatically activated Windows?

Details about your computer would be helpful. Info needed is brand name and model.
