My McAfee occasionally pops up with “Blocked Risky Connection – App Microsoft Edge Content Process IP Addr: xxx” Seems to have started after April updates on Win 10 1903. Anyone else getting same problem? Thanks.

Is the IP address dodgy? Test it in VirusTotal.
If it’s OK complain to McAfee.

      cheers, Paul

I tried the VirusTotal and just got a display with a lot of Gray horizontal lines blinking. With a goggle search I used another web site and it showed the IP as Amazon.com. The address was 52:216:129:165. It is always the same and seems to happen even when I do not open Edge. Thanks for the info.

That IP address is a hosted site, so you need to find out what the URL is, e.g. http://www.askwoody.com.
Ultimately it’s probably McAfee being overzealous – advertising how good they are at blocking things.

FWIW, Virustotal shows some dodgyness on that address.

      cheers, Paul

Many thanks Paul. I went to MacAfee Community and found same problem reported back in 2018 and also on IE further back but to different addresses. MacAfee employee just answered that TrustedSource had identified as risky address. I tried to report mine but then was prompted to create userid account (Gee, another set of userids, passwords – forget it). So I guess I will just wait to see if someday they get other complaints and fix it. Thanks again for your help.
