Not exactly on subject: my Son wishes to download a file sharining programme from eDonkey. The site state that if you pay the registration fee then:

-I therefore believe that the obverse is true with the free version? Whilst I do not wish to disappoint him, can anybody say if they have had experience of this programme please?

No firsthand experience, but I’m a girl who loves to Google….

Check out this link http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/o/overnet.asp%5B/url%5D ; of particular note is the “Clot Factor.” Looks like it comes with a bunch of spyware that may be difficult to remove, should you ever choose to do so.

And, for what it’s worth, my only experience with P2P stuff like this has been negative. My 2

I have not had negative experience necessarily, but I find that as a parent, I would not let my kids anywhere near eDonkey/eMule or most other P2P programs. There is way too much out there that I would prefer they not see, if you know what I mean!

Ok Stephen, I work for company who makes it very hard for people to download musc and such from p2p’s, so I consider myself pretty knowledgable here. First, eMule is one of the best p2p’s out there. On the other hand, depending on where you are from (country), you, being the parent, can get into a LOAD of trouble if he downloads something and we see it and the record/software/movies company wants IP addy’s.
