On a webpage, when I click on a link to send an email, Outlook Express automatically opens. I use webmail. Is there a way to configure the mailto function to open my webmail page instead? THANKS in advance!

You might try to open Control Panel>AddRemove Programs>Set Program access and Defaults>Custom.
Select your email program to be the default. OK out.

Thanks for your reply. The only choices seem to be Outlook Express or “use my current email program” I might be missing something, but I’m not using an email program, I use webmail.

I don’t believe this function will work unless you use an installed email program like Outlook Express, Firefox, Outlook, etc.

In many cases, the webmail provider offers a toolbar or other add-in that can redirect mailto: links in web pages.

      Google Gmail Notifier: http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_windows.html%5B/url%5D
Google Toolbar, version 5 beta: http://toolbar.google.com/T4/index.html%5B/url%5D

Not sure for Yahoo! Saw one post that says installing Yahoo! messenger will do this.

Just what we all need…. more toolbars !!! hmmn I wish they would just add that function to their email programs. It’s hard enough to see my desktop as it is. disappointed
