Howdy folks – I’m looking at an MSDE database which purportedly has a table with MS Word docs stored somewhere in it…

1) Is it possible to embed word docs in MSDE (of course you can in jet)
2) If it is possible, what’s the data type…?

Use an ‘image’ data type.

This ‘image’ data type will hold binary data including ms word, and excel documents.

For more information you can find details in books online (downloadable from MS).

Sorry, I should also say that you could use ‘binary’ and ‘varbinary’ if the files aren’t any bigger than 8Kb. Otherwise use ‘image’.
