    Hello,

I want to embed a media clip into a presentation and send it to another user in a different environment. I can embed the clip as an object, (Insert, Object, Create from file, browse and click Link)…I get an error message that “It isn’t possible to create a link to (path and filename here)”….so, maybe it’s because the file is on my desktop. The type of file is a .wmv file. That being said…I could Pack and Go, however, I want the person on the other end to see a .ppt not .ppz. I don’t want the show to run in slideshow veiw mode. The other user may want to tweak the application…Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Regards,

See if Troubleshooting MultiMedia in PowerPoint and the links provided there help.

Media clips can be tricky in presentations as they can be big. Usually if I need to transport presentations I will ensure that all linked files and media files are stored in the same folder as the presentation. This way I can simply copy the folder to another PC and all my links and clips will work.

If you want to send it to someone else, I will advise that you store all the content in one folder on your C: drive, and then using WinZip, create a self extractor file that stores the absolute path. Send this self extractor to the person and when they unzip it, it will unzip all content to the same folder on their C: drive too!

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
