Error code 80070643 – NOT .net issue

All of the updates for October installed successfully except for 6 related to Office 2010. The error code is 80070643 which at the Microsoft site refers to two issue, a failed or corrupted .net installation, which isn’t the case, all .net updates have been successful or a problem with Office 2003. I’ve tried all of their advice, run the automated fixer, which fails to fix a couple things, and still have that “you have updates” icon down there, which has failed to actually install, several times. The last time, I had 7 updates including the Security Essentials one for today, it succeeded the 6 Office 2010 updates failed, again. Any ideas on what to try next? Thanks!
