When I save my spreadsheet, I get the error messages below.

The cell named “WORK_DAYS” contains the value of 252.
The cells that reference “WORK_DAYS” contain the formula as follows:

    =ROUND(+$BS$5*VLOOKUP(+$D118,$BZ$5:$CB$16,2)/$BS$8,0)-ROUND(VLOOKUP($D118,$BZ$5:$CB$16,3)*$BS$11,0)

    where $BS$8 = $WORK_DAYS

I’m saving the document as an Excel 97 spreadsheet. I searched for any field with error values and there were none. I turned on the Audit but still couldn’t find any errors.

    Message 1:

“A formula in a cell (Name:WORK_DAYS) could not be converted because it contains a function that is not available in the file format to which you are saving.
If you continue the save, the formula and result will be saved, but the function itself will be converted to an error value.”

When I click “Yes” to the question “Do you want to see additional errors as they occur so you can fix them later?” I get the next message.

    Message 2:

“Microsoft Excel cannot convert some of the cells. The total number of errors found is 1.”

Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be?

      hello ckaufman

Are you trying to convert the workbook into some other version, say Lotus 123?

These kind of errors are indicating that you are trying to convert=translate this workbook.

Make sure that when you do a SaveAs that the Save As Type drop down says something like Microsoft Excel workbook.

Other than that, please try and check to see that the workbook is not damaged, and repair any damage you may find.

Thank you!!! That was the problem. I was inadvertently trying to save to another format (Excel 95).

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
