    Hello All,

    I’m using Excel 2003 SP-3 with Windows 7 32 Bit.
When I select a file via the Jump list from my Excel icon on the Start Menu I get the message displayed in the attached graphic. It happens with both files containing macros and those that don’t. It also happens if I try to open a .csv file from the jump list. Excel loads but sans the file. I do not have this problem with the Word or Access icons on the Start Menu…all works as advertised here. Any suggestions?

If you are lucky, it’s a simple Excel setting. Under Excel Options, in the Advanced section, near the bottom is an option labelled “Ignore other application that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). Is that checked?

        Rory,

Thanks, that was it. However, It is located on the General Tab in 2003 and Titled “Ignore other applications”. Don’t you just love how MS is always changing things around?

        Thanks again,

Oh yes – I misread your post as being about 2007!

And no, I don’t love it – I’m still getting used to where everything has moved to in 2007! At least with 2010 I get a bit more control back…
