This is an odd situation, and probably odd question too, it doesn’t seem to do anything but it bugs me nonetheless. ALL system events, including daily scans with MSE, backups with Windows Backup are listed in the event logs as having occurred on Wed the 12th of current month. For instance, MSE tells me that this mornings scan happened on Wed Dec 12, all of last months scans are Wed Nov 12th. Since these things are automated I had no occasion to look in the event logs, but when I had some problems with Backup last week I did and saw that despite my schedule for backups, which shows correctly, the actual backups are all listed as Wed 12th of that month – before the 12th and after the 12th. There were some ipconfig issues so I fixed those but they were all listed as having happened on Wed 12th. So I looked at MSE, updated it and it said I had done so on Wed Dec 12th. My system clock and time are correct, everywhere I look, the correct time is displayed, it is just in recording events that Windows uses Wed 12th, every month. I use MSE at Fred Langa’s suggestion but I am wondering if it is the culprit, or if anyone has run into anything like this before and may have other ideas. Like I said, it doesn’t seem to harm anything but it is just annoying to see Wed 12th as THE date for everything the system does in maintenance. Thanks for any ideas you might have. No better place on the Net for answers than here – Google couldn’t even understand my query, lol. :^) gene:confused:

      Gene,

I just looked through all my logs with the event viewer (Win 8 Pro) and the dates are all normal dates, could even find one with the 12 as a date for the last 2 months. FYI I also use MSE.

Well my unique talent for finding real puzzler’s continues. It has to be a Windows issue of some kind because it only shows up in log files – though MSE is afflicted too. As this snapshot shows.

Wait the snap paste didn’t work, so put it in a Word file as an attachment. You can see that though the scan ran today, MSE says it all happened next week. Same thing is going on with Windows Backup, it does what I want on my schedule, but claims it all happens on the 12th of the current month. Sigh.
