In Excel 2003, I had macros in a toolbar. How can I do this in Excel 2016?

      Hi Bluegoose,

File tab > Click Options > Click Customize Ribbon > On the right side under Main Tabs, select the Developer check box > OK

If you want to add macro buttons to a toolbar, you can either add them to the Ribbon or to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) that sits either just above or just below the ribbon. You can customise both through the Excel Options dialog (File – Options)

Thanks for your responses. My code is in a separate workbook. How do I set it up to open that workbook when I open another workbook? Is the a way to import the 2003 Excel toolbars?

          Hi bluegoose1776

To open the same workbook every time you start Excel, save the workbook in the XLSTART folder.
(in the File menu click > Save as > Computer, Browse and then browse to the XLSTART folder.
For Excel 2016 it is probably in one of these locations..
          C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice 16XLSTART
          C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16XLSTART
..or, if you have the click-to-run version of Excel 2016, it might be in
          C:Users(your User name)AppDataMicrosoftExcelXLSTART

Another way is to specify a different (alternate) folder for your startup excel files:
Click File > Options > Advanced.
Scroll down towards the bottom to the General section.
In the At Startup, open all files in: box, type the full path of the folder that you want to use as the alternate startup folder.

          46447-excel-startup-files
Note: Excel will try and open every file in the alternate startup folder, so make sure that your folder only contains files that Excel can open. Also, if a workbook with the same name is in both the XLSTART folder and your alternate startup folder, the file in the XLSTART folder will open.
