    Hi all
I use Excel 97 from Office 97 on Windows 95.
This is my first post, and I hope somebody here can help me.

I am preparing monthly business activity reports.

The recipients would like the Header and Footers to be in a different colour to that in the body of the reports.

We have a HP Laserjet 4500 Colour printer.

Can I apply colour formatting to Headers and Footers?

    Regards
    Michael

It’s been awhile since I’ve thought about this – but couldn’t zinger use a cell reference (formatted cells) for his header/footer. you know – like the 1-2-3 workaround!

You can use a range of cells as a header (with all their formatting), but as far as I know there is no way to use a range as a footer. You need to have a seperate range for each worksheet, ie you can’t have a standard header this way.

To use 1 or more rows as a header, you need to give them a range name of Print_Titles. Just select the rows you want (by clicking on the first row number at the left, holding the mouse button down, and dragging down until you have all of the rows you want). Then go to the Insert menu and select Name>Define. Type Print_Titles and click on Add, and then Close.

These rows will now appear at the top of every page for that worksheet. As I said, you need to define these for every worksheet.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
