I am creating a chart that is showing potential cost savings. I’ve created a stacked column chart with two columns. The first column is existing costs and the second column is costs after the potential savings. The potential saving is 30 to 50%.
Presently the second stacked column is displaying two different colors for the upper and lower parts as usual.(ie the first column shows $100 present cost, the second column has a total height of $70, with the upper $20 in a different color, representing that costs could range from $50 – $70.)
But because the potential savings is a range rather than an exact number, I’d like the upper part of the second column to be either cross hatched or transparent, or some other effect to represent the unknown nature of the exact amount. But I cannot find any way in Excel 2007 to format the way the upper part of the column appears.
Is there a way to do this, or is there some other type of chart I can be using to represent this data?
Thanks
