• Excel Ran Out Of Resources

Opened a blank workbook, typed =2+2 in the first cell and got the following message:

Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas.

Now receiving the above message while performing any action in Excel

The above situation seems to be triggered by first opening a spreadsheet with STOCKHISTORY in it.

If I go straight into Excel and open a blank workbook everything is O/K as long as I don’t use the STOCKHISTORY procedure.

I’m running Microsoft 365 and have no add-ins.

I’d expect that to be a lack of memory / swap space.

How much RAM does your PC have?
How much is free before loading the stock sheet?
How much free after loading the stock sheet?

RAM size can be seen in Task Manager, on the Performance tab.
To find Task Manager, press Win and type task m

I apologize for having taken up your time with this issue.

Further research indicated that a lot of people are experiencing the same issue and that Microsoft knows about it.

Thanks for your efforts on my behalf.

Still worth checking your RAM, in case your issue is not the one others have…

      cheers, Paul
