Wondering – similar to a drop-down menu…
Does a validation list have functionality similar to that of a drop-downs .listindex?

Have a validation list, where I would like eg. item #4 to be the preselected item.
– how to do?

That’s not possible. If the cell has a value, that value is selected in the list; if the cell is blank, no list item is selected.
