I have Access97. Is it possible to export from 97 to 2.0? Is it just a standard load or do we have select extra functions in order to do this.

It depends on what you’re trying to export. As I recall, you could export tables from 97 to 2.0 but not interface objects like forms.

Have to get back to this problem now. I have a 2 databases that is in ver 97 & a different db in ver 2000. What are the steps to convert this to ver. 2.0 How do I now if my system is setup to do this?

If you’re trying to convert objects like forms, you can’t. All you could do would be create an Access 2.0 database using Access 2.0 and the use 97 to export tables into the 2.0 database. Access 2k is the first version that attempts to dave a db as the previous version.

If you’re trying to create an application with versions to match the various Access versions, you’re going to have to do a bunch of recoding. There is stuff in each of the later versions that simply didn’t exist in the previous version.

Just want to “convert” the data into 2.0

Let me go over it.. I have 5 PC’s – 3 have Access 97 and 2 have 2000. We want to convert files from 97 & 2000 to Access 2.0.

One of our clients is still using Access 2.0 and they need this file.

Then I think you’re going to have to get your hands on a copy of Access 2.0. I don’t remember any way to actually create an Access 2.0 mdb file from Access 97. 2000 is the first version to include that kind of backward compatibility. Or have them send you an empty 2.0 database and export the table(s) into it from Access 97. You’ll need to test it, though, and I don’t see any way to do it without a copy of 2.0.
