I’ve been asked if it’s possible to make a simple print-out of three fields of contacts belonging to individuals and residing on Exchange. They have a reason for this list and while I know it’s possible to do it pretty easily directly from Outlook, they don’t want to place the burden of doing it on each of their people. They want to do it for them.

Is this possible? I’ve seen a lot of info on public contact lists and the GAL, but not on an individual’s contacts through Exchange.

    Thanks! Kim

Probably depends on the Exchange version. >2003 may allow this with with PowerShell but I doubt you will have much joy in 2003 or earlier. Either way it seem like a strange request given a restore will resurrect everything.

        Thanks for your response Paul.

My client is a company where the mgmt doesn’t want to burden the professionals with this task. Also, if mgmt gives them the tools to print out a list themselves, mgmt fears it won’t get done. Mgmt wants to capture up-to-date client information for marketing purposes, which at this point resides in the Contacts for each individual pro. They do believe they can induce the pros to review a printed list.

At this point, I suspect it would be easier for mgmt to devise and distribute a contact view, then log on as each professional, switch views and do the print.

        Thanks again, Kim

I reckon you could do this in VBS, or maybe AutoIt. Then it could be done at start up and it won’t bother the users, or allow them to forget. It will also collect their private contacts so you may need to advise staff beforehand.

      cheers, Paul
