    Hi,

    I have tasks that are set to run at system startup, however these do not run if the system is booted from a power on and fast start is enabled.

    Is there a workaround that will resolve this problem without disabling fast start?

    Thanks

      Ray,

      Welcome to the Lounge as a new poster! :cheers:

      You can change the Triggers on the tasks from At Startup to At Logon. This should alleviate the problem.

      Hi RetiredGeek,

      Thanks for the information I was aware of that option (Sorry I forgot to say that in the original post) but was hoping I could avoid doing it that way as the system concerned really has no need for anyone to log in right after it boots. It does however need to run some scripts when it boots from cold. It seems that MS needs to address this issue if they are going to introduce such facilities.

      Looks like I will have to find another was around the problem.

      Can you base the trigger on an event such as the event log starting up – event id 6005?

      You should not have any issues. Many times it is the User Group which is set incorrectly. Try it with these settings which I have circled in the image below.

      @JoeP517 @djohnson

      Joe, I have given this a try and it does not appear to work but needs a little more investigation perhaps.

      djohnson, For the task in question I think I can use the SYSTEM option but again it will take a few reboots over a few days to fully evaluate if it works OK 100% of the time.

      I will have a play with both options and post back here in a few days. Thanks for your suggestions.

      Well I have had a go but it seems that whatever I try is unreliable so I will end up turning fats start off I think. That way does seem to work.
