Is it possible to compress the file size more than what you get when you save a XL file. I don’t particularly want to use 3rd party software.

    Thanks,
    John

What do you mean by “more than what you get”? Excel doesn’t particularly try to compress a workbook. You can get rid of unused styles and number formats, and empty but formatted rows and columns, but that’s about it if you don’t want to use WinZip or something like that…

I’m afraid winzip or similar would be the only way.

With winzip, you can of course use the ‘make .exe’ option so your target wouldn’t need winzip to open and read it.

….. and if you only want to transmit values, saving as .csv results in significant space saving (especially if you then zip it, too!)

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
