I have been looking for a utility that will allow me to use the file properties in explorer and search them and see them not only by right clicking. IS there such a utility. I have started using Filenotes by JAMWORKSPRO, but why do you need another utility when this is in windows itself?
    Thanks

In Explorer, View > Choose Details will list a lot more columns to select than the standard Name, Size, Type and Date when viewing in ‘Details’ view.
What are you trying to search for?

If I want to search the file properties for a particular word. i.e. I download lots of utilities and demos. They are all given cryptic names and have ZIp extensions. If I could write a description and then search that I could find all the ZIPs of a particular type.
        Thanks

          Hi, Zave ~

I download lots of utilities and demos as do you. To avoid the cryptic names the Zip files are given, I simply rename them at the time of downloading when given the option of what and where to save. You may also create folders each labeled for various types of programs (Internet, Utilities, Apps, Media, Archives, etc.). This will save you from having to search for it later. I also save a small text file or an electronic Post-it

I was hoping that there was something that used the existing fields in the properties tab in Explorer rather than have to put another add on on the system. The advantage of what I am using is that you can search from a central window all the descriptions to find a lost file. I would love something that did that based on the existing properties in explorer. In addition the JAMSWORKS program automatically opens the description tab whenever the SAVE dialog is opened.
            Thanks
