    Hi
I keep getting the message Files waiting to burned to CD I fear these files have been deleted and now I can’t get rid of this irritating message, I tried to edit the registry to no avail with a NoCDburning.

    Any ideas please

    Regards Braddy

Cick on the icon and see what files are waiting to be burned…

I think you can delete them from there

      Hi Peter

That doesn’t work for me as I said the files have been deleted, and so I can’t delete them again, but I still get the message.

Put a disk in your drive, click on it to open, now you should see the files waiting to be burned.

      Hi Roadrunner

I hear what you say but I can’t burn the files because they have been deleted I get the message these files are not at the location specified.

and I can’t use group policy editor because I am running Windows 7 Premium.

      Hi Braddy,

Look in the CD writing burn cache to see if there is anything to clean out there. You will have to go to Explorer>Toolbar>Organize>Folder and search options>View tab>click on Show hidden files, folders, and drives and click OK. Then navigate to

      C:UsersYOUR USERNAMEAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsBurn

Delete everything you find in the Temporary burn folder See if that makes a difference.

How about selecting some more files to burn to a CD. Burn them and reboot to see if that reset something pertaining to file burning operations. It will only waste one CD if it does not rectify the problem (unless you do have some files you wanted to burn. )

Also, have you used something like CCLeaner to clear out all temp files on your hard drive. Worth a shot.

Check MSconfig for software starting at bootup. See if anything pertains to the CD/DVD writer, disable, reboot to see if message goes away. Check Task Manager Processes for any process that looks unusual. Download and run Sysinternal Process Explorer, which will allow you to see all processes, including the ones hidden in the svchost.exe arrays. It will also allow you to right click and search the Web for info on each process. Sysinternals Autoruns could be helpful to identify startup software as well, especially the Logon tab.

If none of the above help, I might go into the case after unplugging the machine, pull the power and data cables from the optical drive, boot up, and then shut down, attach the power and data cables to the drive, and reboot to see if the message returns.

Braddy60, what type of files were you trying to burn ?
I copied an MP3 file to my desk top, dragged to page for burning files, deleted the file from my desktop and it still showed as a shortcut.

      Hi Guys

I finally resolved the problem with Eastec Eraser I think it must override MS security.

Thanks to all who replied, as ever I am most grateful to the Lounge members
