Finding All Query Uses (Access 97)

Is there a simple way to find out every query/form/report that uses a given query? I need to change a report, and it would be simplest to change one of the original queries, but I need to make sure that that query isn’t critical to another report or form. This database was poorly written with queries nested multiple times within other queries. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think you can do it within Access itself, but you might want to pick up Total Access Analyzer. Not only will it help you with your specific request, it is very useful for documenting, cross-referencing, and error-checking databases. I’ve never needed to recursively determine what uses what (i.e. determine that x uses y because x uses a uses b uses c uses y), so you may need to manually do some work even with TAA, but it will definitely help a lot.

Speed Ferret, http://www.moshannon.com/, provides a way to find all instances of a string, i.e. query name, in a database. I have been using if for a couple of years and have found it very useful. Check out their web site.
