    Hi Y’all,

My preferred link scanner is Finjan Secure Browsing. However, It will not install on Firefox 3.6.10. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I’m using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. It works just fine with IE 8.

My preferred link scanner is Finjan Secure Browsing. However, It will not install on Firefox 3.6.10.

The .xpi file you can download from that page contains this maximum version info:

      Code:
      3.0.*

You can edit this information so that Firefox 3.6.x will install it, but there’s no assurance it actually will work.

      To edit:

[*]Right-click the Install button and save the file to a convenient location adding .zip to the end of the file name.
[*]Open the .zip file in your favorite zip program or navigate into it using Windows’ compressed folder feature.
[*]Extract the archive and edit the above line in install.rdf to a version such as 3.9.999. Then re-archive the extension files.
[*]Rename the archive to something like a FinjanEdited.xpi, then try to install it by dragging and dropping it onto an open Firefox window.

Does it work? (The edit and the extension?)

      Jefferson,

I followed your instructions and it worked until I dragged the file into the FF window then:

Hmmm, I think that’s the usual trick. If it doesn’t work, there might be something else missing that is now required. Sorry!
