I currently use Windows 10 Firewall Control (also used Windows 8 Firewall Control and Windows 7 Firewall Control). Doing some “comparison shopping” I see Windows Firewall Control and like how I can set a rule and specify a port being use eg. IE on port 80 only. Would be interested in people pointing to article reviews because I only see a few. (can see it on alternativeto.net )

If you are referring to the firewall from Sphinx, Noel Carboni here at Ask Woody has written up some posts on the topic here.  Try searching for them.

      Thanks I found the post.

The other software I found is Windows Firewall Control form Binisoft / MalwareBytes. It sounds interesting because you might be able to control the rules (specifically the ports).

      FYI

These were my post; now I have a username. I have been reading since Woody’s Watch and the subsequent newsletters until WS’ catastrophe. Also I depend on Susan Bradley’s great Windows patching information.
