“You can make backups manually, but that would be silly. Go grab Tweaking.com’s Registry Backup at OlderGeeks.com, and make a backup.”

I may not be a geek but I’m having trouble seeing why it would be silly to go to Registry Editor, locate and click the registry key or subkey that I want to back up and Click File > Export, instead of downloading a program from people I don’t know, vouched for by other people I don’t know. The latter is the one that sounds silly to me.
Or am I missing something ?

It takes considerably more time and effort to examine a downloaded .reg file to ascertain which key(s) it will change, navigate to them in RegEdit as an admin and export them, than to backup the entire registry with a couple of clicks.

      Hi Deanna,

Nice to offer the 5 reg tweaks for people that would fine then useful. Just to add to this, it would also be good to have reg files that would undo the tweak. Some people might not have a need for the change in the future and would need some way to return to the default for whatever reason.
      Just my thoughts…all the best
